M. Kansas Joe McCoy et Mme Memphis Minnie McCoy, ils ont enregisté en 1929 la première version de "when the levee breaks"

La chanson était inspirée par la grande inondation du 1927, Missisipi, la plus grande catastrophe (reliée au fleuves) dans l'histoire des Etats Unis

La chanson était reprise notament par Led Zeppelin*, blues man John Campbell , metal band WASP, punk group Judge, Toni Amos etc

Dans l'album de Bob Dylan, Modern Times (2006), on trouve une chanson avec le titre "The Levee's Gonna Break"

A noter que levee comme mot, vient du mot levée

* Robert Plant a changé un peu les paroles pour qu'il donne une deuxième signification -apart la catastrophe- avec une note politique.
La signification de Robert Plant c'est que levee est les travailleurs, qui vont se lever contre leurs exploiteurs

...dans la même album (Led Zeppelin IV), on trouve le vers "and you know sometimes words have two meanings" qui accompli parfaitement la deuxième signification invitée par Robert

j'ai retrouvé se livre qui parle du puit de 12 metre de profondeur je le scane une fois ché moi...
c'est con sa prouve que j'ai raison...

Dans un livre j'ai lu que ca avait été enregistré dans le cul de Pti JC fait chier tu as tort

Sur "work", il n' y a pas de "S" .

faux !! dans le mot work y a pas un "s" bien sur -ni dans le mot "women" d'ailleurs* !!!

mais si tu écoutes la version originale chantée par Joe McCoy <---je suis en train de l'écouter pour vérifier ça et oui, il dit "works"

bon, ici particularement il dit "women" le diable , mais dans la version originale il dit très clairement "womens"

ah oui, gammaticalement c'est faux, bien sûr....

ps : en fait c'est pas dans la VO de "rolling stone" que Waters dit "womens" je l'ai vérifié -alors c'est ailleurs qu'il le dit.... bon, quand je trouve la /les chanson(s) avec "womens" dedans, je reviens
